The Aviano 1 XR is a true powerhouse which delivers entertainment by the bucket-load yet consumes minimal living space. Its potent 5¼" driver communicates with incredible authority and integrates flawlessly with Mordaunt-Short’s proprietary aluminium dome tweeter for a highly detailed, smooth and room-enveloping soundstage.

Aviano 1 XR’s all-new second-order crossover brings about a number of technical benefits, the result of which makes our budget hero an more thrilling listen than all its peers...

How’s this possible? Well firstly, the crossover rolls-off the driver units faster which means less overlap between the midrange and tweeter thus improving off-axis response. This benefit is most apparent in non-optimised listening environments – typical of most people’s homes – meaning better balance and precision whether listening intently to the intricacies of a symphony orchestra or being entertained by something altogether more raucous.

Another distinct advantage of the new Aviano XR’s crossover is its ability to carefully limit lower frequencies which reach the tweeter. This is the key to even greater power handling and lower distortion which allows Aviano 1 XR to play louder and more accurately than ever before.
