WTB: Center speaker RM300- RM500

Post by ckf8829 on Wed Aug 05, 2009 12:36 am

Hi,

I recently bought Boston 5.1 Speaker (MS4000) & Denon 1509 AVR (RM2700 for both)..Found out that the sound is not so clear after compare to my bro set. ( very clear when i compare to Denon DHT390 5.1 set & that is the reason i bought it)...feel so sad Crying or Very sad

just wonder changing a center speaker will help to improve the clarity? My budget is RM300 -500 ( used also doesnt matter as long as in good condition).

Hope all the expert here will help me out..

Many THanks

i have JBL S-Center which is well known as one of the best center speaker ever made, and willing to let go at RM700, or RM1000 bundled with AAD C-44 surround speaker. (negotiable)

I have famous Mission M3C2i very popular budget center speaker for sale only RM330, COD in Klang or Shah Alam. Colour Black/grey.

Soo many good review:

For good entry level HT I advice start with Mission speaker set, cheap & very good for AV & music. Later upgrade to Klipsch or Epos or B&W or MA or Tannoy (using it) & the best (for me) Dynaudio with high power AVR(flagship).

Hi ckf8829,
I personally do not like centre speaker. All the while I am using a pair of bookshelf as centre, because one a pair of tweeter will be sound batter then only one.

If place are allow, try to lope a pair of small bookshelf speaker as centre. Bookshelf also more valuable & flexible to swap for surround speaker use.

You might try your surround as centre (one pair) & test the sound quality.

Happy Listening.

Go to Harvey Norman at IKANO shopping mall (near IKEA /Curve). They have a very nice Polk Audio centre speaker for about RM370

I too had the same thought but how do you connect one pair to a set of speaker output? Wouldn't it double up the ohm value?

Hi Alex,
Yes, just connect on pair of speaker to one terminal as long you are not using hungry wattage speaker. Recommend small bookshelf ( example size of Q-ACOUSTICS 1010i BOOKSHELF SPEAKER)

As My AV system (Marantz 7002) I do have a pre-out & plug it up to a stereo integrated amp to drive a pair of big bookshelf speaker (Epos ES14).

Happy Listening,

Hiya chew,

I have extra pair of small bookshelf. Wana try out using them as center speaker. What is the best way to connect one pair (2 pieces) to a single terminal?

Thanks

Hi Alex,
Sorry, that is no best way... 2 pieces will give you louder & more sound stage, however single piece will give you more power.

If you centre channel is more then 100w then should be no problems for 2 pieces.

Personally I prefer double pieces. Just try and error loh

Happy listening.

Hiya Chew, thanks for the info. I shall explore during the weekend.

Hardly play any action movies in weekdays (night).

Cheers What a Face
