SVS 2000 Series subwoofers



SVS Sound launched its 2000 Series subwoofers at the 2014 Consumer Electronics Show earlier this month but distributors across the globe were already supplied with stock a bit earlier, we learnt. If you know where to find Maxx Audio, the official SVS distributor in Malaysia, you'd have caught a glimpse of the new units by now.

There are two models in the new line - the ported PB-2000 and the compact SB-2000, a sealed-box unit, both inspired by the design philosophy of the flagship Ultra series. The new Sledge 500D amplifier on board provides the juice, and has been matched to a new 12-inch driver.



Power output is now a staggering 1,100 watts peak (500W RMS), and SVS claims the results are "deep, clean and lightning-fast". The new driver is an "exhaustively tested design" with a "computer FEA-optimised motor for even lower distortion."

The heavy-duty voice coil allows extreme power handling while the driver suspension has been upgraded for better control and clarity. The PB-2000 goes down to 17Hz, the SB-2000 to 19Hz.

The lightweight aluminum cone used on the driver is highly efficient, while the rubber surround ensures long-term durability. Both subs are finished in black-grain vinyl and come with a protective metal grille.



The PB-2000 measures 20.9 x 17.3 x 22 inches (h/w/d) and weighs about 30kg, while the SB-2000 measures 14.2 x 14.2  x 17 inches (h/w/d) and comes in at 16kg.

The PB-2000 retails at RM3,799, and SB-2000 at RM3,459. Call to set up an audition.
