My R8 originally came with KT88 power tubes.

It has been upgraded with 4 balanced units of Tung Sol EL34B power tubes. The pre-amp section has also been upgraded to a pair of Tung Sol 6SL7GT. This combination has given the R8 more control in bass and better definition in imaging and soundstage.

In addition to the new Tung Sol tubes, this package also comes with:-
1. 4 units of Willsenton KT88 power tubes
2. 2 units of Willsenton 6SL7 pre-amp tubes
3. 2 balanced units of Melz 6H9C russian 1950's pre-amp tubes which is the exact equivalent to the 6SL7GT.
4. Original metal remote
5. Original box & manual

It delivers a warm, rich presentation from only 45 Watts. Tarun's ProAc bookshelf loudspeakers are not the easiest load in the world but the R8 took charge and created a surprisingly wide and deep soundstage with excellent layers of detail.
