KL International AV Show 2022 – back with a bang

The KL International AV Show is back and took off on Friday, Oct 28 with the opening by organiser Dick Tan of 3DotEvents and  InterContinental Kuala Lumpur general manager Meera Raj.

This is the first time the show is being held in this hotel but there was not shortage of a variety of exciting hi-fi and home theatre brands being showcased, just like previous shows.

The entrance fee has been increased to RM20 but based on the non-stop flow of audiophiles, hifi and home theatre enthusiasts on the very first day, it really shows how much event has been missed over the past two years due to the pandemic. The chosen location also seems to be more accessible either by public or by private transport as there is ample parking within the hotel and the surrounding areas. With each purchased entrance ticket, guests will also receive the ninth edition KLIAVS Commemorative Limited Edition CD.

There are four levels being allocated for this show – 1, 2, 6 and 7, and nearly 40 rooms and 16 booths have been set up by various hi-fi and home theatre distributors and dealers. Not to forget, there are also several music and movie distributors selling LPs, CDs and 4K Blu Ray discs.

A number of new products were also launched on the first day, such as the Dali Kore speakers, the new Kronoscope RS tonearm by Kronos Audio, Ruark R2 Mk4 lifestyle streamer and locally-built JW Speaker Lab among others.

A good mixture of music formats are being showcased, from vinyl to CD to online streaming, hence there will always be something available for every guest choice of music or movie playback. There is one thing missing from this show though compared to previous shows and that is the head-fi section.

All and all, after two years of the pandemic, the KLIAVS is brining lots of joy to audiophiles, home theatre enthusiasts and the industry as a whole.
