Rotel Preamp

Post by arremie on Sun Jul 18, 2010 2:40 pm

Any old working model but must be in good cosmetic condition especially the front face plate. I don't like visible scratches and fade color.

Offer me if you wanna let go RC-965BX, RC-985BX, etc.

Can call/SMS Remy 012-2959195

if silver fascia is not a big deal for you, do consider those higher model vintage rotel integrateds with pre-out...

separation, presence, body and weight is quite good. Its just that the 4KHz-10KHz range a little bit boosted...

is it just my ears or are all rotels like that? their sonic signature?

yup. thats what i thought. looks play an important part too. while i can live with a silver coloured cd player, a grey nad amp and a black pre-amp, i can't live with certain alien-looking speakers...

question to all forummers:
so, can you live with a "unique-looking" quad cd player that sounds twice as good as the competition or would you "secretly" prefer a Macintosh-look gear that sounds twice as bad?

hmm.... now all the IKEA fanatics are gonna throw sour faces at me now

sorry for tumpang-ing ur thread. Happy hunting for the pre-amp... bro Matlap might be able to get u a nice unit.... wei Matlap... mana lu?

wei... if got chance to test out other preamp for free go ahead bro. it doesn't have to be rotel as long as it matches good...

the preamp's sonics would also have to match the speakers, not just the power amp. who knows? you might end up with a Western Electric preamp... whoaaaaaaaa..... good luck

thanks bro but since my power amp is rotel i need a rotel preamp just for the sake of making it reference point to other preamps. i may not like the rotel preamp but if can get one at good price...why not
