Hi-Fi World magazine included Kimber Tonik in their round-up of six different interconnects priced up to £960 in the August 2009 issue.

And how did it fair? They say it's "A richly rewarding interconnect with superb low level resolution and fine tonality" - and awarded it four globes!

Tonik is one of our entry level interconnects which nevertheless proves the wonderful benefits that can be gained even at this level.

The Hi-Fi World review said that there was an immediate improvement by upgrading from a budget interconnect, as the Tonik "brought about a subtle but effective change" with positive gains in treble clarity. This had the advantage of creating a clearer view of the recorded performance, especially with orchestral pieces.

As for the bass improvement, they said "bass lines were vivid and nicely underpinned the main performance without ever tending to dominate". And it’s equally good news with the midrange, producing more clarity and insight.

We always say that the main reason for any system upgrade is to improve musicality and the listening experience. This cable, like the others in the Kimber range, demonstrates the principle very well and is recognised in the review with the conclusion: "A musically enjoyable cable offering plenty of sound per pound".
