Some of the history-This relatively inexpensive speaker caught the ear of Cello's Mark Levinson.Levinson engaged in a joint venture with AR to derive a line of products that would be less pricey than the usual Krell or Cello line.Reviewer Ken Kessler pointed out in his article in Hi Fi News and Record Review in October 1991, the AR M1 speakers sound best with seriously expensive amplification, Class A amplification that would run about $3,500 bucks or more. At this level, the AR M1's sound their best and reveal their sonic potential.Kessler refers to the M1 as a "bloody miracle.
