Looks like we need to kick-off earlier this Friday than usual because it will go all the way to extra time and penalty shoot out. For the crowd, they need good concentrations throughout the whole night.
CoS, I will be in Jab. Keselamatan & Kesihatan Perkerja, NS right after 3pm for a meeting. This is regarding a job I am having in PD. I should be able to clear this around 4pm.

Hi Jo,
Roger that but I might only be available from 6 onwards. If can meet up earlier, I will contact you. Oh ya.. as for the menu, please refer to your PM. Chefs discussed and shortlisted some of the dishes before they decide which to put into the menu. Surely won't disappoint!

Playing now.
Started out at 8.30pm after dinner with Jo Ki.
1st contender : Harbeth P3ESR
2nd contender : Rogers LS3/5A 11ohm
3rd and final mini monitor : Rogers LS3/5A 15ohm
The Odyssey Stratos did a good job for the night.
Someone will be going through every nooks to find his new found love.
Quite a good gathering for 10 of us. Jo Ki, Jedisavant, mugenfoo, rsbn589, cyh, Wilson Wah, Tubey Wong, Hi-Fi Pang cos and myself. Tested vinyls and CDs.
The Hakka CD is quite a revelation. I like the 'plak' best The atmosphere is very jovial and jokes were cracked every now and then. A fun 3.5 hours before we headed for hour long teh tarik.

Quite an intoxicating evening indeed. Thanks to Maxx and COS for being such gracious hosts, and the rest of the NSAG gang for being so welcoming.
I'm done scouring e-bay for today and have email'd people at all corners of the globe to begin hunting garage sales and flea markets in the hope of uncovering a pair of genuine BBC-spec mini-monitors.

Mikapoh, wrong wong. From what I can see, the NSAG sessions are always listening sessions only, never judgemental. I think like me, they believe that everyone has a right to his or her preferences, for music, sound, etc. So there is no best sound for everyone, only the right sound for the right person.

Thanks for the clarification, WongKN. There are no winners nor losers. Every speakers has their own forte and it also boils down to each individual's preferences. I certainly enjoyed the environment and jokes a lot that night. Some very comical moments.

Yes, that I agree. If the sound is fundamentally inaccurate... But still that again is to my taste, my standards. Looks like I share the same with some of you.
Still, I have an ex-colleague who is one of those legendary 'bass freaks'. He love strong and ample bass. His system sounds super bass heavy with lots and lots of bass and he loves it. He doesn't care that Cliff Richard love songs for e.g., are probably not supposed to be play with so much bass. But in his colloidal description, "fantastic bass man ! even my balls shake !"
I have never thought he is wrong. Just different taste to me.
One of these days, if the timing is right, I shall join you guys. Hope you won't lock the door when you see me coming !

Upon further reflection, meditation and consideration, I'd like to offer the notion that perhaps the first speaker type that we auditioned was not a good match for the amp on driver duty.
I've mentioned elsewhere that I've heard the P3 being driven by Krell and it was an almost mind-boggling experience. This could be something to try out again...

Both those speakers cannot handle ShAkti all that well due to limited dynamic range. For near field monitoring I would imagine all could be good, but for critical sound immersion, a subwoofer would be needed and lots more power to get a grip on things.
On my system, ShAkti rocks out pretty hard and solidly, but I'm using synergistic components... Bwwwaaahaaaarrrrhaaaarrrrr.....

Been having a very busy week and only have time to do some writings before the next party comes (which is tonight!) .
Prior to last week's party, I have dropped a hint to the chef on the preferred main course for the night. Thank you for the nice "meal"!
Throughout the night, we were being treated with some great new investments that the chef has made. One of them in particular was being labelled as "something"-killer previously. Honestly, I had no idea what the actual stuff was until I step into the stadium. All that struck my mind at the 1st sight was.. the style that resembles a Studer!

Jo, there are still some reserved "menus". Plan to indulge the "dishes" slowly. Some of them still require some work out and body stretching before going all out. Tonight, there is a possibility one of them will travel to Old Trafford. Time to take out some licorice pizzas.

I was grown up in RANTAU and i left that pace long long time[now demolished] before pursuing my secondary and colleague studies .I still remembered those sweet memories,i was listen most my DIY AMP ,DIY 8" speakers [made of cigarette carton box] and some other audio related simple projects.I used to play loud on my speakers at night, that really shake my neighbor floor..and i like to watch her playing from my window[i am not peeping kaki]..her mothers smiles at me.I hope she likes my gift..yeah i have a good neighbor who understand my favor for a Loud and clear listening .
I cant believe
that my DIY 100W solid state amp featuring TO-3 transistors still working fine till now..same age as Olive series 1994 !! It is a self made-amplifier, designed to answer fully every demand the listener wishes to make of it. Just like Naim ,built to last, built to satisfy the listener.
sometime i do comeback and meet some of my friends at Nilai for yam cha..or a light puff!

Sneak peak of the 'menu' for the coming weeks. Shall wait till it is ready to go on the field.
Meanwhile, the chefs are busy preparing the 'menu' for this Friday's party.
