What CD player for RM5k

If you had RM5000 (+/-RM200) to burn, which CD player would you buy?

i would get one of the top loading CEC transports, and order a Buffallo II dac from the internet.

i have the buffallo II dac, and i have heard it with a CEC top loader in a friend's place. No digititis at all. i was completely blown away by the naturalness of the sound. I currently don't have the funds for a CEC top loader, and am using an old Pioneer dvd player. But if i did have the money to burn, i would do just this and be happy for the rest of my hifi days.

Interesting choices. Mine was Rega Saturn. Sadly, no longer on sale in Malaysia.

dear lb, mind me asking what is your current cd player is? if u already have a reasonable one then don't buy first try buying first press cds n listen u will sure find it much better then up grade.

First press CD bloody expensive and rare. Some odd one fetch up more expensive than a high end cd player.

come on how can a cd cost more then a high end cd player the most is rm 3k n not every first press cd cost that much, high end cd player cost more the rm100k

yes u r right that cd really cost that much but like i say not every cd will cost that much

Dear Alfred, I am not looking for suggestion for my system. The question is : If you had that amount of budget, what will you get? I will eventually buy a player at this price range but that will be a decision that I will make for myself. So the objective here is to generate a short list of options.
