1541 - Glad to know you are still keeping both. My 855 is looking for a new home now...or I would change my mind anytime to just continue to keep it...Very Happy

RCD855 are fewer CDM4/1541 player that comes with metal chassis,furthermore the board was heavily populated with audiophiles "Blackgate" capacitors.Many qualities parts are being used,never lose its nose to CD880 ,CD94,CD960 etc

I mean it is really a keeper..it is far superior than many CDM4[flimsy] players around, you still see plenty of CD3,CD94,CD100,CD960,CD75,CD880 around but not the RCD855. And it should worth more than 3 digit price figure !!

Happy to know who else has RCD855, pls step forward to say something...

Yes definitely this Rotel is a keeper as I find it is not much difference compared to Philips CD104. Arcam Alpha 5 with the same DAC and mechanism can easily asks for RM1100. I might be too conservative to put the price at only RM700....Razz. BTW, 1541 did you know if the 855 can play CDR or not? I actually did not play any CDR with my system but some potential buyers wanted to know about this.

Yes it play all CDR! Practically CDM4 were the 2nd best laser [very lasting] Philips had produced,CDM9 rank the 3rd!

Even CD100 play some CDR, again they prefers on low speed burnt CDs
