Feedback on Quad 99 series

Are there any Quad 99 series owners who can give their comments regarding the sound, build quality and reliability of their amplifiers and CD players (which are now made in China)? I'm considering the CDP 2 player and the 909 power amplifier. I have earlier e-mailed a request to the local distributor to direct me to a dealer who can provide a demo and knows the brand well. Unfortunately it was met with silence.

Thanks but I know Sam and his views regarding the new Quads. I would very much prefer to hear what Quad 99 owners have to say; call it "alternative news" as opposed Sam's "MSM" news.

Are there any Quad dealers here in Malaysia? The distributor listed for Malaysia in the Quad website has a Singaporean telephone number. I guess we need to drive down there go get the new Quads?

Sorry, I don't have the Quad 99 amps or CD players. I presume when you mean China, I presume it's their manufacturing factory in Shenzen.

For what it's worth, I do have the Quad 11L speakers that are made in that facility. The build quality is fantastic, it was actually much better than my old pair of B&W 302s. I've had them for 4-5 years now, and they are still in very good shape. If the amps / CD players are made with the same level of detail, I don't think there is much to worry about, but amps & speakers are slightly different animals, I guess.

Ya, I also interested to know more from Quad owner regarding 99 series (especially power amp 99 and pre-amp Q-24).

When I visited to hi-fi shops, many sellers are commenting that Quad is no longer that good compare to previosly. Now the product 'cannot go'. However, the pricing now is also much lower as compare to last time. Should the pricing now justify the quality given?

Appreciate someone can share with us more review regarding these equipments.TQ.

maybe coz Quad got bought over by some Chinaman company... & some people got "Colonial Mentality" (which i admit sometimes i also have this prejudice esp with regards to "made in China Krells").

But then again, whats not made in China these days ?
Nads, Wharfedales, Missions, Quads, Wadia iTransports, etc etc...

Sometimes also affraid sales person made such comments due to their sales strategy. Whatever they sell is a worth buy, others not a good buy.

Appreciate some quad owner (99 series) can make some comments here.
