Its time of the year again folks. It will be a week into Ramadhan.... but it will not stop me from going hehehehe.

Weekend of 4th to 6th July. Usual place in JW Marriot hotel, KL.

This year Commemorative CD is my favourite of the three CDs given out during the show. Kudos to Joki and him team for another job well done.
I have just a few of the commemorative CDs to spare. Those friends my mine from Out of Town who could not attend this year show and want to have this CD, please telephone me. You should have my mobile number.

I was particularly attracted to the McIntosh/Focal, Vitus and Goldmund sound, especially Goldmund.

I brought my grandchildren to the show to achieve that. 

That is a handful! Not easy to enjoy the show any more

I like the bright and very rhythmic frank tscang ASL speaker with Karan. Very life like energy.

Is the blind test on invitation only? I would be much obliged if someone could share the experience. I hope to make it on Sunday but worldcup all night up is rather taxing.

Comparison between coaxial and optical cable... nothing serious... just for fun.

typing tis review of my visit 2 kiliavs 2014 while listening 2 d tis year commerative cd which has more instrumental n slow music which i believed wld b enjoyed by most of us...  

yeap, head to room 03 at level 8 occupied by AV Intellingence n listen 2 d Devialet n u wld understand d core of our system is d amp n not d speakers..

in short tis is a hybrid Class A & D amp which cost RM74K which has been calibrated to your speaker design (eg. crossover, cabinet air volume, etc, etc) wif an end result u speaker is singing n full of bass as though a sub-woofer is in d room...    

do audition d latest speakers such as d Focal Aria 936 in room 40 by Audio Perfectionist, ATC SCM 40 V2 in room 18 by HiWay Laser, Neat Elite SX in room 03 by Absolute Sound Dist which are all in level 7 n form ur own opinion...

ohhh...before i forget, i had really much fun taking d double blind test on d coax n toslink cable peformance which wld leave a smile on ur face..   

finally, scan d qr code in d given handout 2 redeem d free 2012 n 2013 commerative cd's n share them wif ur friends....

Spend about two hours only. To many things to see with too little time.

The blind test was fun. somehow toslink sounded better to me. In my system, I thought coaxial sounded better and also thought the extra step of converting electrical to optical degrade the sound. Today, I am not sure of anything except the fact that toslink was better in today's blind test.  IMHO.

I think it is still system based... mine sounds best with AES/EBU...

this year commemorative cd is among the best from the 3 versions. Very enjoyable.

I am going risk sounding like a heretic here; I didn't like the commemorative CD. The first two classical pieces were excellent. Apart from those two, I could not bear listening through the rest of the tracks. I gave my copy away. 

The Vertere setup was the most impressive, IMHO. Astounding levels of detail.
