Import duties when importing from China directly

Is it true that based on ASEAN trade pact, import duties levied on amplifiers imported from China is now 0%?

From the schedule it would safe to say no import duties but there is the 10% ‘sales tax’.

Amplifiers & speakers coming in have no duty but sales tax still kena. I have brought both in through proper channels and sales tax is payable.

If your amp has wireless or Bluetooth careful ya. Technically, it needs SIRIM approval for import license/permit.

You are best off calling MITI for clarification. Then also, check with the customs n excise people.
