If you are follow up closely with the CD technologies way back 80s,liked NAIM this MCD has setting a new standard for audiophile quality player, you possibly know a little about it..the Legand of the "turbo-charged" of Philips CD100 .
Meridian took its design,mod it [Philips first CD player] and upgraded the electronics to make an excellent sounding player..which was the high end device in early 80s..meridian went futher up with another release MCD-Pro which only few can be seen world-wide and mostly not for sale
It plays, and sounds very good, the lid is the push down type..Top loading player.
