Looks like lots of misinformationis being sprewed around the net. It is especailly dissapointing when coming from people like Rega and TNT. What is the best way to say this without insulting people....

An individual's 'reference' is only as good as the scope/limit of his/her experience and the openness of his/her mind. What one 'knows' as 'best' or 'fact' can and will often change with new experience. If one have not heard what is possible with the best equipments, a closed mind can very often lead to ignorance. It is not wrong to be ignorant but it is very sad for one to be ignorant of the fact that he/she is ignorant.

It's always best to keep an open mind. And try to listen to as wide a range of system as possible. There's always something to learn everyday.

Totally agree with you. Would like to add that the phrase "one man's meat is another man's poison", so it's all in your preference. If one doesn't like the sound doesn't mean the sound is bad. Let me put it another way - if Napalm Death or Carcass or Slayer or Anthrax or even Metallica sounds rubbish to you, it doesn't mean you are right nor does it mean the other 38 million people who bought their albums have no ears! Cheers and just enjoy the music lah!

Oooo.. i like Metallica. My favourite track to test if the system is "up to it" is the bass rythym on Leper Messiah. Most low/mid end systems cannot properly resolve the strong kickdrum rhythm in rapid succession.



But anyways, I will continue to post "interesting" links. Whether people agree with them or not. Nor do i claim them to be the gospel truth or otherwise.

The whole idea is to be AWARE of what facts and mis-facts are out there. Then let the reader form their own conclusions.

Ah yes, agreed. Do not force-feed but educate. Forumers are matured adults and they are perfectly able to make conclusions by themselves (it's worthwhile to discuss as well of course, learn new things, listen to other's opinions, learn to see from some other perspective). Most importantly, each individual has a right to his/her own opinions though it DO benefit tremendously to keep an open mind and be open to learn new things. Most importantly, do not let hifi4sale become our national censor board, i.e. decide what's good for other people to listen to !! LOL.
