Turntable platter ring

Hi analog enthusiasts,

I will be getting one or two platter damping rings like those sold in eBay (link) to try out on my "soon-to-be modified" Lenco75.

I have been able to source for these rings in UK for a much lower price than those offered in eBay or other audio online stores. But the minimum order is 10 units for these rings.

Some TT users have experienced a difference (for the better) while some felt the difference was subtle. But for the price of a plate of char kuay teow plus a cup of coffee, I am going for it.

Two sizes are available, 5.33mm/279mm and 3.53mm/266mm.
5.33mm and 3.5mm are the cross-sectional diameter and the 266mm and 279mm are the internal diameter.
The rings are black in color. The rings can be used for other TTs besides Lencos and Garrards.

If anyone is interested in buying these damping ring, please let me know ASAP.
I have orders from friends but I am extending this to members in this forum as well to make this bulk order worthwhile.
Cost of each ring will be MYR9 without shipping.
I will be in the UK from end March for a few weeks (till mid April) and will be ordering them soon.
A 50% deposit (via bank transfer) will be required for confirmation by 26March latest. (Sorry, no deposit, no rings)
This will be a one-time order until I make my next trip to UK (don't know when).

I have a damping ring for the outer rim of my Lenco75 platter. But I am getting the smaller diameter ones (266mm and 279mm) as I am building a PTP-type plinth where I will use the rings on the inner rim.

No need to carry from the UK. You can get them locally. 

All you need to give the supplier is the dimensions or a single sample. They are just basic O Ring seals in the final analysis.

I got mine from this company at the Cheras Outlet. 

I recall they were about RM3.00 each or such like

So sorry for posting the information if it has disrupted anyone's plans and ability to get what they wanted...?

As I work close to this shop I would be happy to collect any rings required and pass to those needing them at Amcorp or in KLCC area.  

BTW, the Lenco V Blocks made out of hard plastic by the guy in Portugal are the original shape with the backstop for the knife edge. The Hong Kong Copper V Blocks also are similar to Lenco original profile.

From what I know the Desmo does not have the original backstop profile against the shaft outer. They do have a very solid reputation though and are well regarded.

I am not commenting on the quality of any of the V Block offerings just pointing out the Portugal plastic and Hong Kong Copper seem to be straight copies of the Lenco original V Block profile which may help in centering the Knife bearing.

Anyone can PM me if they want me to collect any rings from the local seal company

I have been looking for these rubber seals for quite a while. All the shops that I have been to locally don't stock the sizes I need. It's very difficult to search for lots of stuff online in Malaysia. Most times it's all by chance that we can find what we want locally.

I have been getting much of my stuff from UK as it's easier to search for them online. It's good that you have given me a source to get these seals locally. If you can still get them at the same MYR3 price it will be great. I'll ask my friends if they are still interested in getting them locally and get back to you with the final numbers. Let me know of the price of these seals, 3.53mm/266mm and 5.33mm/279mm. I am also looking for the 3.53mm/47.22mm seal as well.

Called up the shop and it looks like the price of these seals have gone up like everything else in Malaysia, especially KL and PJ. They are MYR6 each now, but still cheaper than UK.
I'll get them when I have the time.
