Re: Amp selection help required

Buy(or loan if possible) used amps and try out in your system. If it doesn't work then sell it off at minimal loss, or break-even.

Since you like low punchy bass, try to listen to the Krell KAV-300i with your speakers. If you still don't get the bass that you want, change your DIY speakers to those that go lower, or get yourself a sub.

If within your budget, could consider the below amp. If you are planning to continue in this hobby (believe me you will, because it doesn't let you off easily once hooked), then the below choice would be able to withstand some further upgrades in future, more so then choices like the NAD 3020i, Pioneer A400 and other models mentioned above.

Thanks ryder and hifikrazy for your suggestions, I am quite satisfy with my speakers so far.., just looking for a good amp with plenty of juices to match with the speakers.

Will arrange a date with a few good & kind senior forumers here for testing..looking forward to meet them!

Allen, I prefer u come alone and then buy me chow kuay teow after u listen to my setup, la. Then I can jot down notes of your perceptions and your idea of what is good sound, as there is a possibility that good sounding system means differently to different persons. Then can suggest 'tailor made' a system just for your ears!

Dear Sifus,

What you guys think of this ONKYO amp? This is an intergrated amp, pure dual mono design.

Output power:
155W+155W (6ohm)
120W+120W (8ohm)

Dynamic power:
2ohm: 420W+420W
4ohm: 280W+280W
6ohm: 200W+200W

Damping factor: 400 (1kHz, 8ohm)

Link: http://audio-database.com/ONKYO/amp/integraa-919-e.html

There is a used unit for sale, asking price RM2500.00.

My questions:
1. Worth buying? worth keeping for long..
2. Is it too old?
3. How is the sound quality?
4. Any other better options/alternative?
5. Your comment about this amp please..

Thanks for your inputs !!

These are only sample pictures:

Awaiting your comments please..., nobody has used or listened to this amp?

Or your comment about brand - Onkyo please..

1. Is it audiophile grade brand?
2. Spare parts can be obtained easily?
3. Is not famous brand?
4. Better I go for other more familiar/famous brand?

Thank you for your inputs.
