I have two in DIY form. TA 2024 and TA 2020 chipsets. The TA2024 is certainly best value for money. Very tubey sound. Very Happy

They're good, detailed and refined. I have the S300i integrated. Not a lot of character but they do most things well.

I have listened to Bel Canto on several occasions, both stereo and home theater systems.
Actually, I went there out of curiosity to have a look at the JBL Everest 66000 speakers and they so happen to have Bel Cantos there.

Won;t T amp or class D sound too analytical? Tubey sound means they are more warm than normal SS amps?

T amp wise, they're warm alright esp. with vocals. I'd say it's their strength.
The drawback is that if you play low bit rates mp3s, it really shows how bad it is.. very 'unforgiving'.. Not my main source of music so no issues on my side..

flavour of the month What a Face

rotel rcc 945 > audio alchemy ditb > yaqin ms12b > bel canto s300

this is my current setup. after receiving the item, immediately i change my setup that i have been using for more than a month. since this is a used unit, running it more than 100 hours has pass & so im enjoying the result spontaneously. the previous (original owner) had two of these & running with a passive pre amp!!. he gave this up after buying a pair of high efficiency speakers (106db) a match it a 2w SET. after hooking up everything i sat down & starts to listen..... afro

mimpi moon?

its true class D sounds very analog, enjoying the sound for jazz & classical mostly. but then again it does not do a good justice for hard rock musik. im going to try to match this with rotel pre amp & see how it goes. cheers

Re: class D power amps

Class-D is commonly misunderstood to signify a Digital amplifier. It’s actually just the 4th letter of amplifier types: Class A, AB and C. What it really means is the fastest, simplest and most efficient way to convert electrical power into music. Our class-D amplifier architecture uses sophisticated class-A analog control circuitry to achieve low distortion and high dynamic range coupled with the eco-modern efficiency of our class-D output stage.

azri, when u gonna tolak me that bel canto cheap cheap Razz

in the 1st place when i got that class D amp, there was a bit disappointment. its very true reviews saying e.one bel canto sounding very analogue. not flat but analogue, one will have to go for higher watts like reference 500s, 1000s, mkII with 200~500 watts/ch, to get the real bel canto grunt... mine is only 150w/ch

after some mix & match on source, speaker cables & even swapping floorstanders with fullrange, i find the results were the same, very analogue, instruments & vocals on jazz are nice, much better than my previous setup (the rotel conspiracy) worth the money but.. i cant find justice when listening to rock musik.. !! the grunt is there but not good enough for me. being unsatisfied, i decide to roll my pre ms12b 12au7. 1st choice Electro-Harmonix 12au7, good reviews, cheap & has similarity sounding with mullard 12au7. mullard or telefunken are too expensive. after rolling the tube i can say this is a good move. EH vs stock shu guang tube is so huge in differences. everything sounded much better & it gets better everyday as the tube starts to break in. money well spend, will recommend to many bel canto power amp users. looks like ms12b did it again, saves my pre+power combo & bel canto sings rock songs much better than before. even with black eyed peas the bass thumping are generous, i dont have to hate the sound no more. makes me smile everytime they are in actions..

nak bel canto?
