Zaku, So will there be a second replacement or until the insurance claim is settle first?

i dono anything yet, the dealer did not say anything, just told me the speakers i sent back is fine and he sounded very pissed when i told him the speakers i received is dented. but he told me what to do, just to claim insurance lor....

he confirm through a message on saturday, that he had forwarded the claim to the insurer.

Zaku, so sorry of your ordeal. Hope its settled at the soonest. To be fair, they are excellent speakers at their price point and hope it will not drop to the bottom of your priority list.

The claim may take ages to process and make payment.
What about the replacement pair?
Are they letting you keep it until the insurance is settled?
Are they sending you another pair?
What about freight to send the damaged pair to KL? who pays?

I guess it's very frustrating to be in the position you are in now.
Need to be very patient and calm while this is resolved.

Thanks Ongaaron, They sounded nice, kinda like their highs, not as fatiguing as i thought it would be. but the entire ordeal just sets me back thinking about lots of things.

Latest update from the dealer is that, they have managed to secure a letter of undertaking from the insurer and have told me to go to KL personally to collect the speakers (new) and to bring my current (dented) over for an exchange, and whereby i get to check the quality of the speakers there.

What a saga!! Hopefully this works out in the end.

On the other hand, I'm really glad to read postings from Borneo!! I get to Kuching about 4-5 times a year and never seen any hifi shops. Perhaps a get together may be in order!! Either in KL or Kuching!!

I have TDL RTL2 speakers but one of the terminals is damaged and woofers is torn. I really loved the wide soundstage and deep bass of Transmission Line before. The TDL used to be driven by my old Pioneer A300X. Today I have Audiolab gears from monoblocks to the latest 8200CD. Would PMC be an ideal choice to pair and match with the detailed (some said clinical) sound of Audiolab gears? Thanks.

If you are from KL, Selangor or the nearby states, with a little bit of effort and time you will be able to determine the choices yourself - just bring your Audiolab gear to the dealers for an audition with the PMC.

The Audiolabs aren't behemoth gears, not something you can't carry without a forklift or require 2 to 3 persons to lift up.

So go the dealer, arrange for an audition and ask them if you could use your gear with the PMC. I'm sure they will say "OK".

I used to have a pair of TDL RTL3 SE (still have them but have blown a tweeter). So I understand your love towards the low end control and extension on them. I recently had a listen to PMC speakers driven by Bryston amps. It was rather sweet sounding but did not deliver the low end as extended as TDL. Still a good speaker to those who like them. My TDL were driven by MF X-Ai and X-A50s and it gelled well.

What speakers are your Audiolad driving now? I believe there will be no issues in technical compatability between Audiolab and PMC but its a matter of whether it will compliment each other good enough.

I agree with sph. Try and arrange a demo with AV Designs with your Audiolab amps. It will be the best way to judge and decide.
