Re: Question About Mod CD Player
Hi pocoyo,
May I know, could you make DIY modification by yourself.
I also interested mod my DVD & CD player.
I already read many mod in the net. In Singapore their popular mod is Marantz CD player. From my reading the best mod is for Clock 4 and PSU. You can read from this side:

Re: Question About Mod CD Player
Normally we sent to Octave in PJ near AMcorp for any audio mod, but the price may be high for entry level equipment.
Anyway, they can provide most of high end part like Elna Audio & other cap, silver cable, psu, opamp & other imported part.
I read Ken in Penang doing DIY tube amp & preamp. He produce some high end product with 1/2 the price with high grade parts.
Anybody doing at home modification in Klang Valley???

Re: Question About Mod CD Player
Hi Pocoyo,
I have a mod CD63SE. It was done by a Singaporean TS Lim (DIVA amp designer). Of course there are significant improvement but the only question you have to ask yourself is it worth ? How about consider adding a tube buffer or a DAC ? At least you can sell it later if you decided to change your CD player.

Re: Question About Mod CD Player
yes pocoyo..i'm agree with opera. If you want mod/diy your cdplayer at least you must have a little knowledge in electronic, schematic, and function of each circuit block. Most modification are concentrate at improving the digital bit signal by upgrade clock, improving signal by changing OPAMP.For me i don't do mod. to my cd player because it still functioning good,i just add external DAC and buffer that all. From this DAC(DIY) i can change type of OPAMP.From that i know the best OPAMP right now are from Analog Device.
